About us

South African Sign Language is a living language and an integral part of South African society.

At iSASEA, our work is grounded in the belief that Deaf and hearing communities are not separate worlds, but part of one shared society. Our programmes support respectful communication, mutual understanding, and unity through South African Sign Language, which is recognised as South Africa’s 12th official language.

Non‑accredited programmes for personal interest, enjoyment, and personal or professional development.


iSASEA (Pty) Ltd provides practice‑based education, training, and consultation in South African Sign Language (SASL) and Deaf awareness. Our services are community‑centred and focused on applied, real‑world learning.


South African Sign Language (SASL) Training

We offer practical SASL learning opportunities designed for everyday communication and meaningful engagement. These sessions are suitable for beginners and for individuals who wish to explore SASL out of personal interest or to support their personal or professional growth.


Deaf Awareness Education

Our Deaf awareness offerings provide informed, respectful insights into Deaf communities, communication practices, and access considerations. These sessions are appropriate for individuals, groups, and organisations.


Short Courses and Webinars

iSASEA presents short courses and webinars that introduce key topics related to SASL, Deaf awareness, language stewardship, inclusion, and access. These offerings support curiosity‑driven learning as well as ongoing personal and professional development.


Consultation

We offer consultation services for individuals and organisations seeking guidance on SASL‑related matters, Deaf awareness initiatives, and approaches to improving communicative access.

All services are non‑accredited and are designed to support learning for interest, enjoyment, and development, while also providing a foundation for those who may later wish to pursue formal learning pathways.

Through our programmes, participants can expect:

  • support for respectful communication and interaction in environments where Deaf people study, work, and participate as equal members of society


Our offerings are community‑centred and recognise South African Sign Language as a living language used across social, educational, and professional spaces.

Webinar Registration Information

1.  Complete the Online Registration Form

All participants must complete the webinar registration using the Google Form provided.


2.  Payment Information

Payment details and instructions will be sent by email after the registration form has been submitted.


3.  Student Rate

Students who qualify for the R200 registration fee are required to submit:

proof of payment, and

a valid institutional letter or proof of current registration.


4.  Proof of Payment

Registration is confirmed once proof of payment (and student documentation, where applicable) has been received and verified.


5.  Webinar Access Link

The webinar access link will be shared with registered participants after proof of payment has been confirmed.
